What is required by Texas State Law
to get your vehicle released from our Impound Lot for tows of any reason
Things you should know before you come or call to pick your vehicle up:
- We don’t “negotiate” our rates when you call or arrive. This isn’t
1974 and tows are no longer $50. Tow trucks are $50,000 to $60,000 each. Insurance
is $10,000 a year. Fuel is not $1 dollar a gallon, it’s $3.00. Employees are
not $2.50/hour. They are salaried well beyond minimum wage. Does your boss negotiate
what you will be paid weekly on your wages? No.
- If you come without proof of ownership (title, registration, or insurance card that
matches your photo ID) , you’re not getting the car out. If you’re not
the owner of the car, and you don’t have an affidavit of ownership (notorized
statement that you’re approved by the Owner of the car to pick it up) you
aren’t getting the vehicle out. Yes, you can have the keys. Your wallet might
be in there. We can’t release the car.
This is State Law. We can be shut down, fined, and have liability releasing a vehicle
if you aren’t the Owner. We won’t do it, so please don’t ask
- Realize a mistake has happened & it will cost you money. Life happens. Mistakes
happen. If you sweat the cost of the tow and have a fit, the price still stays the
same. Go into this knowing you’re going to pay what seems like a lot
of money to get your vehicle out. Major of our customers we see back time &
time again. Did you learn a lesson from this? Ask yourself.
- Throwing temper tantrums in our office. Generally, tempers can flare when you may
have illegally parked your car in a NO TOW zone and now have to pay. Remember, what
you say matters. You can be charged with a simple misdemeanor of disturbing the
peace to assault. Keep your cool. Don’t let a mistake turn into a fiasco with
- If you call us 25 times and ignore the proper documentation to get your vehicle
out of impound. Without it, it’s not getting released. We don’t take
bribes, we don’t have shoulders to cry on. If you come at 3 a.m. and still
don’t have the documents you’ll still have to leave and get them. If
you’re not the owner, you won’t have this info at 3 a.m. Go sleep it
off, and come back when you’ve made the calls to the Owner to get what you
Finally….we don’t care about these things and you’ll still
have to pay & still have to prove ownership:
- Who you are (VIP, rich tourist, tough guy).
- Who you “know” (if they are from South Padre chances are we know em’
- Your XYZ relative or friend that’s an Attorney. We have one as well. We follow
ALL State Laws. We will win, and you will pay our Attorney’s fees after we
win, and you will still pay.
- Your sob story on why you have no money and can’t pay (you’re here on
vacation with no money? Please. Pay or we keep the car.
- The story on since you didn’t see the no parking signs, you can’t possibly
have to pay for this tow
Guess what? We can’t tow you unless a.) the police call us to do so or b.)
the property owner has a signed Tow form on file with us and calls us AND has the
universal NO PARKING signs up.
We take cash, credit card or electronic check. We don’t take booze, drugs,
bribes your watch, or anything else you feel is an equal barter. We don’t
take payments, either.
